KARYOTYPING: The test which examines and identifies the size, number and shape of the chromosome in the metaphase state of the cell sample.

Why it is needed?

  • Any Chromosomal defect which may cause problems in women like multiple miscarriages.
  • To identify the chromosome defect which exists in the foetus.
  • To determine abnormal chromosomes.
  • To examine the new-born with any developmental delays or unusual features.
