Dhiviya is an Additional director – Scientific wing at Bioberry’s Healthcare and Research Centre. She is a PhD graduate in Clinical Microbiology specializing in antimicrobial resistance (AMR). She worked as an Associate Research Officer at the Wellcome Trust Research Laboratory, Christian Medical College, Vellore, India for 3 years. She also worked as a Research Officer at the Department of Clinical Microbiology, Christian Medical College, Vellore, India for more than 8 years. She has acquired extensive knowledge in the field of microbiology, molecular epidemiology, and microbial genomics. She mainly works on infectious diseases and AMR in clinical pathogens. She works on genomic sequences to understand how these bacteria spread within and between geographies and how they evolve drug resistance. She has published more than 40 research papers in her field and have authored more than 100 bacterial genomes in NCBI.

She is involved in various National and International projects in collaboration with ICMR and WHO, Country Office. She is the Research Officer in the AMR surveillance project funded by the ICMR, New Delhi and She is the supervisor in the surveillance of Corynebacterium diphtheriae and Bordetella pertussis study funded by the WHO, India. She is also the accessor for the AMSP and IPC project funded by the ICMR and for the WHO project on laboratory diagnosis of Diphtheria and Pertussis for sites across India. She is the Indian microbiology lead for the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), UK project “Biofilms and Antimicrobial Resistance Consortium of ODA receiving countries – (BARCOD)”.

She is the reviewer in various National and International journals like Nature Scientific Reports, Frontiers in Microbiology, Cellular and Infection Microbiology and Indian Journal of Medical Microbiology.
